The Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) has put together a variety of free resources for employers, including an Essentials for Business webinar and Accident Prevention Plan workshop. The Essentials for Business webinar will review information on workers' compensation, quarterly reporting, what to do if an employee is injured, workplace safety and health requirements, wage and hour laws, and contractor registration rules, among other topics.

Upcoming monthly L&I Essentials for Business Webinars will be held on the following dates, and interested employers can sign up on the L&I Workshop and Training page:

• Thursday, June 22 from 10:00-11:30 AM
• Wednesday, July 26 from 2:00-3:30 PM
• Tuesday, August 22 from 10:00-11:30 AM 

Additionally, as Washington state law requires all employers to develop and implement a written safety program tailored to their workplace hazards and needs, L&I is hosting a free Accident Prevention Plan (APP) workshop on June 28 from 9:30 AM to noon PST. This workshop is provided by L&I Division of Occupational Safety and Health consultants to help employers build an effective APP and will review how to conduct a Job Hazard Analysis, how to identify training and personal protective equipment needs, state requirements of a written APP, APP implementation strategies, and benefits of an effective program.
