Proposed Dental Licensing Fee Increase

Oct 26, 2022
The Department of Health is planning to propose changes to initial and renewal licensing fees.

The Department of Health is planning to propose changes to initial and renewal licensing fees. The preproposal (CR-101) was filed on Sept. 30, 2022, under WSR# 22-20-067.

RCW 43.70.250 requires that the costs of licensing each profession be fully borne by members of that profession. Rulemaking is needed to ensure fees cover the costs of licensing the professions. As part of a regular review the following profession(s) were identified as needing an update: Dentist, Registered Dental Assistant, Certified Dental Anesthesia Assistant, Licensed Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary.

Rule meetings will be conducted virtually to review the proposed changes. These meeting sign-ups will be made available soon. Please register for GovDelivery to obtain the most current information as well as how and when to register for meetings. The fee narratives will be made available in advance of the meetings. Fee narratives detail the professions licensing costs and background as well as the proposed changes.

Please direct any questions about the rule process to HSQAfeerules@doh.wa.gov.
