The Department of Health Safe Medication Return program, run by MED-Project, is now live and accepting unwanted and expired medications for disposal.

The following medications can be returned through this program:

• Prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Brand name and generic medications
• Controlled substance medications
• Medication for household pets

How to Dispose of Medications

• Drop medications at participating drop of sites. See a map of drop locations near you.
• Use a pre-paid, pre-addressed mail-back package. Free mail-back packages can be ordered at no cost on the MED-Project website or by calling (844) 633-7765.
