Encourage Your Assistants to Share Their Workforce Experiences
WSDA encourages you to promote a workforce survey currently being conducted by the Washington Oral Health Workforce (WOHW) Tracking Program to your office’s dental assistants and expanded function dental auxiliaries (EFDAs).
Registered/licensed dental assistants and EFDAs should have received an email last week to their email address used for licensing and registration with the Washington State Department of Health with an invitation to participate. If a currently licensed or registered dental assistant or EFDA did not receive an email to participate, they can email wohw@uw.edu to be added to the outreach list.
Examples of question topics include:
- Current work characteristics, such as hours worked, location, and current duties
- Work and educational history, such as years of experience, what type of program they attended, experience in any other dental or healthcare related occupations
- Career motivations and job satisfaction
- Background and demographic characteristics
About the Washington Oral Health Workforce (WOHW) Tracking Program
The University of Washington’s Washington Oral Health Workforce (WOHW) Tracking Program collects, analyzes, and disseminates relevant and objective information about Washington’s oral health workforce to guide practice and policy to help ensure the state’s population has access to needed oral health care.
Feedback is critical and confidential. Please be assured that survey data provided will be kept confidential. Individual data will be reported only in aggregate form. Great care will be taken to ensure that no individual’s responses can be identified in reports.
